Shia Labeouf

Shia Labeouf Information
Shia LaBeouf was born on June 11, 1986 in Los Angeles, California to Shayna (Jewish) and Jeffrey Craig (Cajun), a Vietnam War veteran. Shia is a Daytime Emmy Award-winning American comedian actor, and his name means 'gift from God' in Hebrew. Shia LaBeouf described his parents as "hippies" and that he was brought up in a "hippy lifestyle". He further shared that his parents were "pretty weird people, but they loved me and I loved them". Shia LaBeouf grew up poor with his mother (his parents divorced) in LA, and his primary education was in mainly Latino and African-American schools. Later Shia LaBeouf attended 32nd Street Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School in LA and received the rest of his formal education from tutors.

The career of Shia LaBeouf began when he did stand-up comedy skits in his neighborhood as an "escape" from the daily grind of his underprivileged life. At the age of 10, Shia performed at comedy clubs with "disgustingly dirty" material and he described himself as a "50-year-old mouth on the 10-year-old kid". He then found an agent through the Yellow Pages. Three months later, Shia LaBeouf landed the role of Louis Stevens in Disney Channel's Even Stevens. Shia won a Daytime Emmy Award for the role, and has said that it was the "best thing" that has happened to his life. In 2003, he debuted in film via a Disney production, Holes, as Stanley "Caveman" Yelnats IV. The movie caught the attention of Steven Spielberg, who said that Shia LaBeouf reminded him of a young Tom Hanks. This lead to Shia's future roles in Transformers and Indiana Jones 4.

Still if 2003, Shia LaBeouf kept busy in the HBO documentary show Project Greenlight, which chronicled the making of the independent film The Battle of Shaker Heights. This was followed by a small role in I, Robot (2004) and in Constantine (2005). Shia LaBeouf worked again with Disney in 2005 in the film The Greatest Game Ever Played where he essayed to role of Francis Ouimet, a real-life poor golf player who won the 1913 U.S. Open Championship. In 2006, Shia LaBeouf did his first movie nude scene via the ensemble drama Bobby. He stripped naked while on an LSD trip, and Shia defended his choice of role by saying it is in order to "age [himself] publicly" after his goody-goody Disney roles. 2007 was the breakout year of Shia LaBeouf in Hollywood. He was seen in three films, the first of which is Disturbia, a thriller where Shia plays a teenager under house arrest who suspects that his neighbor is a serial killer. Shia LaBeouf received positive reviews for the role, and for him, it was his most important movie because he had a "character-driven" role. His second 2007 movie was Surf's Up where he provided the voice of Cody Maverick, the lead penguin. Shia Labeouf's last, but definitely not the least, 2007 movie is Tranformers where he played the lead human role of Sam Witwicky. Here, the young comedian gained worldwide recognition. Shia LaBeouf's next films will be as big as Transformers, and these are Indiana Jones 4 and Eagle Eye, a thriller directed by D. J. Caruso. Shia has also signed on for the two Transformers sequels. With all these big movies under his belt, it's no wonder why Hollywood insiders are saying that Shia LaBeouf might become the next big star!
